Personally I really want to know what people are using and if my opinion is one sided. It would be nice to see what the community as a whole thinks and not just a few people. VLC Media Player
I propose a move of VLC Media Player up to Acceptable. Since the 1.0.0 release VLC correctly renders subtitles for once. Both in position and style + embedded fonts. Of course this doesn't mean that it is crash free, as I experienced a crash everytime I closed VLC when it was playing a movie which had an embedded subtitle font. >_> But atleast it's not as sucky as it was before. --Deimon 10:48, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
MPlayer
I'm not changing this right now, 'cause I don't want to start an edit war or anything, but MPlayer is only "acceptable"? It uses its own codec tree without polluting your installation! That's a big plus, right there. Joystick interface, infa-red remote control, unparalleled keyboard control... And there's been a user friendly Windows GUI version out for some while now. So, gimme some good arguments why it shouldn't go under "good" or perhaps "一番". iddqd
Maybe because it's a fact that less multiple choices makes a better and easier life? As CCCP only includes Zoom and MPC I guess that's why those are the only ones recommended, but you might be right to put MPlayer as a recommended as well since it's a cross platform player. --Deimon 07:28, 7 September 2008 (UTC)
Less choices make things better? It's not relevent or anthing, but I disagree with that statement more than anyone has disagreed with anything, ever. Anyway, in hindsight, perhaps MPlayer is better where it is. The emphesis on keyboard control over menus is sure to confuse people who are only familiar with standard Windows players. iddqd
Not going off-topic or anything, I just wanted to correct my statement. I meant less selections of one choice makes it all much easier. Instead of having many things to choose (think of the page not categorized in recommended / normal / not recommended), the end-time user have a much easier choice if we limit down the selection to a minimum in the recommended category. That way, the average user only have to read through the few recommened players and take one which fits him, making his choice much easier, instead of making him read through all pages, which exists, of info on all of the players, and finally decide on a player. Sorry for my bad english which surface sometimes. :P If you look for it in IRL you'll see that this statement exists almost anywhere, making everything easier for the user/customer/whatever to buy/choose (or whatever they do) from a short list, instead of putting them in the position to choice from multiple selections, from which they have almost no experience from or information. I guess this went off-topic... Again, sorry for my english skills, they sometimes mess up what I'm trying to say. --Deimon 15:16, 10 September 2008 (UTC)

K-Lite
I removed Recommended from K-Lite Mega Codec Pack. I can understand why the Lite pack would be recommended but not the Mega Codec Pack since it has a ton of unnessesary codecs. Deimon 13:00, 24 August 2008 (UTC)
I do not see why Recommended was removed from K-Lite. K-lite has served me for years and has worked without error and is combined with WMPC makes it one of the best codec pack. If you only beef with it is that it says mega pack then just make it be titled " K-Lite ". Mur 14:18, 25 August 2008 (UTC)
Everything BoxTorrents are about is anime/manga related stuff, right? And for that the users only need a minimal pack as CCCP. And as it's stated under CCCP, it's only reason for existing is to give people watching anime a useful codec pack without the use of extensive codec packs as K-Lite. Further on, since the majority of the fansubs groups only recommend CCCP I believe that BoxTorrent should follow this as well. And remember, nothing deserves to be entitled Recommended just because one user likes it. To be entitled Recommended we need to seriously debate if it deserves it. --Deimon 18:02, 25 August 2008 (UTC)
Then why don't you make a poll on which codec pack people use on the forums then.Mur 20:21, 25 August 2008 (UTC)
If you don't like it, then change it! thats why this is a wiki. --MarchHare 02:39, 26 August 2008 (UTC)

Organized
The page would be better if it was categorised as BT Clients is, with Good / Acceptable / Bad, and not in alphabetic order as it is now. Deimon 13:00, 24 August 2008 (UTC)
Altered to Recommended/Not Recommended to match the BT_Clients page. --Deimon 07:34, 7 September 2008 (UTC)
KMPlayer
Out of curiosity, is the player labeled as KMPlayer intended to be Konqueror Media Player (KMPlayer) or The KMPlayer? I honestly don't know if the first runs MKV files or not. It's not listed on the wikipedia MKV page as one that can run them, but that is, in fact, a wiki so it could be wrong. I personally use the second to play files now, and have found it to be fairly impressive.
Do you really need to ask that? The link points at Konqueror Media Player (KMPlayer), so how could you believe otherwise? But since you asked, I changed the title. --Deimon 07:28, 7 September 2008 (UTC)
Konqueror Media Player is for KDE, not Windows. I've never heard of this other KMPlayer before now, but it's unrelated to the KDE one. -iddqd
Just for the sake of argument. KDE for Windows exists, and I'm quite sure the Konqueror Media Player is bundled in that package. >_> --Deimon 10:48, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
