A BitTorrent Client is a computer program that utilizes the BitTorrent P2P protocol to download and upload data. The original BitTorrent client was released in 2002 by Bram Cohen. Since then, many different clients have devoloped, all of which are at least partially based on the original BitTorrent client.

A List of Commonly Used Clients

ABC (Acceptable Client)
Azureus (Good Client)
One of the most preferred clients on BoxTorrents. Azureus is available for the Windows, Macintosh, and Linux operating systems. This client is currently known as Vuze.
BitComet (Bad Client)
This client is not suggested for use in the BoxTorrents community. It is currently only available for the Windows platform.
BitLord (Bad Client)
This client is based on the BitComet client and includes adware and malware. It is not suggested for use in the BoxTorrents community. It is currently only available for the Windows platform.
BitTornado (Acceptable Client)
Client developed by John Hoffman. This client was the first to include super seeding. This client automatically bans connections with BitComet clients.
BitTorrent 5 (Mainline) (Acceptable Client)
The official BitTorrent client.
BitTorrent 6 (Acceptable Client)
The official BitTorrent client. It is based on the uTorrent client.
BitSpirit (Acceptable Client)
