The KMPlayer Overview

The KMPlayer is a versatile media player which can cover various types of container format such as VCD, DVD, AVI, MKV, Ogg Theora, OGM, 3GP, MPEG-1/2/4, WMV, RealMedia, and QuickTime among others. It handles a wide range of subtitles and allows you to capture audio, video, and screenshots in many ways.

Tweak

By default KMPlayer utilises it's own internal codecs for video and displaying subtitles.
The codecs that come with the player are good, but are unable to show styled subs and ordered chapters.

This problem can be fixed by allowing KMPlayer to use external codecs found in codec packs like CCCP.

Can be chosen from the right click menu

Flac (White noise)

Some videos seem to have issues with KMPlayer internal Flac decoder, so if you have CCCP installed (FFDShow Audio Decoder) it's best to disable it.

Open Preferences (F2)
- Decoder usage - Internal Audio Decoder
- uncheck FLAC

Tips and tricks

One of the amazing features it has that not many other players have is to give you a choice where would you like to draw subtitles

Draw to Overlay Surface - Alt+R
Draw to Image Itself - Alt+M
Draw to VMR Surface - Alt+V

There's a hidden game you can play if you are connected to the internet
